Dr. Rajesh Gayakwad is an experienced orthopedic surgeon based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, with over 19 years of experience in the field. He specializes in joint replacement surgery and orthopedic trauma, and his practice includes treatments for joint dislocation, limb lengthening, fracture treatment, and spinal therapy.
Dr. Rajesh Gayakwad completed his MBBS from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore in 2004, and further pursued a DNB in Orthopedics from the National Board of Examination, India in 2014. He also holds an MNAMS in Orthopedic Surgery from the National Academy of Medical Sciences, India.
From my posts during my professional career, I have found I have the right attitude, dedication, and perseverance to sustain and enjoy the inevitable pressure of a career in orthopedic surgery. I am confident in presenting my ideas within a group. I possess a holistic approach to medicine and appreciate that a patient’s social and psychological state can significantly contribute to their recovery.
Much of my recent experience has been working as a part of a multidisciplinary team and I feel confident in my role, be it as a leader or the team or supporting the decisions of other members. Throughout my training, I have maintained an excellent relationship with all the units in which I have worked. I have also improved my personal assertiveness, time management, and leadership skills through personal practice in my recent postings.
I have achieved the ability to adapt easily to different medical teams over the course of my medical training. I have also prided myself on making a quick and substantial contribution to each of the units in I have worked.
I further believe I have matured as a doctor during the course of my training, which has equipped me the ability to take full responsibility as and when necessary, but I know when to call on for more senior assistance when needed. I have always been a self-starter. However, my capacity to determine priorities, organize my time to maximum effect and take responsibility has been consolidated in recent years on both the wards and studying appropriate examinations.
